Company History

Paul Davis established Paul Davis Freight Services in the late seventies having spotted a gap in the distribution market to Northern and Southern Ireland.

He introduced the first shared user service maximising the speed and flexibility offered by the roll on/roll off shipping lines.

The company was able to offer a faster and therefore more cost effective service than was previously available.

That same pioneering spirit came into play when Paul Davis Freight Services became one of the first operators to provide shared user roll on/roll off services to the Channel Islands in the early eighties.

The company has steadily expanded its operational area to attain its current position as a provider of shared user services by ro/ro to all the UK’s offshore islands and to Northern and Southern Ireland.

Paul Davis trained as a chartered shipbroker with Killick Martin & Company Ltd of London, qualifying through the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in the early 70s. Throughout that decade he worked with shipping lines and carriers which successfully opened up new overland routes into the Middle East and deep sea routes to West Africa.
